As a partner in the firm since 1964, Stewart helped to enhance the firm’s reputation early on for specializing in the real estate sector along with a focus on serving high net worth clients. Through the years he has been a significant factor in the firm’s organic growth, from its humble beginnings (with a staff of ten) to its current role as a recognized leader in the New York real estate world (with more than 50 employees).
Working with the other partners, Stewart has been instrumental in creating a firm that competes successfully based on a platform of extraordinary niche expertise and client service. With an extensive knowledge across all phases of the real estate industry, he has contributed to the firm’s solid reputation and its ability to retain clients during generational transitions that would have challenged other firms.
Stewart has seen many changes in the firm over the past fifty years. Among the most obvious are the evolution of technology, the changing government regulations, and transformation of the role of the CPA into a trusted advisor, as the firm now includes value-added business consulting services to assist clients with complex, sophisticated issues in addition to the more traditional accounting, audit and tax services.
Stewart is a member of both the New York State Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
